In a melancholy mood...

Usually, this would mean I'm in my drink-wine-and-smoke-and-listen-to-Manson-till-my-ears-bleed mood, but not today. Mainly because I can't drink and I don't have any cigarettes. :p So I though I'd post this instead. This is a song written and performed by my online friend Jolyon Cunningham. Some of you may have seen him in the BBC documentary "Too ugly for love", about Body Dysmorphic Disorder. It's a really beautiful song and I love the feeling it gives me. He's talented, and I don't think the documentary showed just how much. So...have a listen.

Nervous; it's a weakness
A twitching play on my self doubt
It's not worthwile to remind me that
I've no place in a faceless crowd

Last train to oblvion, race you
London lights blink ahead in chains
I'm so purile when I call you later
To read someone elses lines

Tearing up photographs you loved
To me they're just stains from a past
Left me no place in your black heart
Words with the depth of a cheap cable talent show
In spite of myself I'll break down and make a scene

Nerves that are consuming me, nerves that sap my energy
I couldn't stand it, I couldn't get my self across
And it's futile, your cliched sentiments, forced smiles
I'll contain myself on the grounds- that...

There's not a saviour who can save my soul
Not a saint on the ropes who can take all your low blows and I
was immune before, he lay in your bed
Now it hurts like an open sore
Inspite of myself, I'll break down and cause a scene

You took my dignity
You took my worth from me
I'll make this fiction like your name
